Application guidance
Insulating Fire Brick Applications for Kilns and Furnaces
Choose the right IFB grade according to working temperature, atmosphere, loading condition and whether the brick is used as hot-face lining or backup insulation.
Ceramic kilns
Used in shuttle kilns, tunnel kilns, roller kilns, kiln cars and backup insulation layers.
Recommended grades: IFB23, IFB26 and IFB28 depending on firing temperature.
Buyer note: confirm dimensions, loading pressure and whether the brick is exposed to direct flame.
Glass furnaces
Used for backup insulation and non-contact high-temperature zones around glass melting and annealing systems.
Recommended grades: IFB26, IFB28 and IFB30.
Buyer note: share working temperature and chemical exposure so the correct refractory system can be selected.
Petrochemical heaters
Used in reformers, cracking furnaces, utility boilers and heat-saving insulation layers.
Recommended grades: IFB26, IFB28 and IFB30.
Buyer note: confirm drawing, brick shape, operating cycle and delivery schedule.
Metallurgy and heat treatment
Used in heat treatment furnaces, heating furnaces, kiln cars and backup insulation for high-temperature equipment.
Recommended grades: IFB28, IFB30 and project-specific IFB32.
Buyer note: select higher strength or higher grade material for severe thermal cycling.
